Extreme Make-over Comes to Salem Oregon

Inspections Unlimited Volunteers  - David Shepard & Jessica Kreitzberg

The students of Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD) in Salem, OR learned that they would be the recipients of a makeover during their back-to-school picnic.  An airplane pulling a 5,000 square foot banner flew overhead, greeting them with the message: "Good Morning, Oregon School for the Deaf!”  The Extreme Makeover team including Team Leader Ty Pennington, designers Paige Hemmis, Michael Maloney, & Johnny Littlefield, along with Keizer contractor Rich Duncan's construction team and community volunteers helped to rebuild the structure.  It is rumored that the show had a larger than normal volunteer turnout in which many people had to be turned away.  However, one of our very own,  Inspections Unlimited inspectors, David Shepard, made the cut and helped with the project.  Jessica Kreitzberg, a support staff member, also volunteered time to this important project.

The 12,000 square foot basement has been the home of  the “Nightmare Factory”, a local haunted house tradition 2 weeks prior to and then commencing on Halloween.  However, the basement has fallen into disrepair even by haunted house standards.  In edition to the basement remodel the team remodeled dorm rooms and a living area.  ODS is located at 999 Locust Street NE in Salem.  The show is scheduled to air on Halloween Sunday, 10/31/10.  The haunted house is open starting October 8th and running through Halloween October 31st.
